yep, and that’s why I left and am going to do everything I can to not return.
additionally, a good friend recently challenged my leadership qualities/activities because I have (amongst other things) given up on the American cause… if giving up on that country makes me less of a leader, then I accept my diminished role. that country and I have nothing in common any more. absolutely there are people there that I love, but not as much as I love not breathing in the toxicity that the US inflicted upon me.
Another good friend semi-recently took issue w my saying that everyone in the US basically doesn’t care enough… I understand why he took issue; I was on a high-horse rant.
But, if I were at a party (read: in a country) and the head(s) of the party (read: state) starting arresting/jailing/killing anyone who said their party (read: domestic, economic, political, social, military, and foreign policy) was pretty much shit in every way,… well, yeah, I’d still leave that party, and I wouldn’t understand the people who stayed.
I don’t think you are wrong for staying; I just can’t understand why you would.
