So, we’re moving and poor, and as a result we’re buying almost all our furniture from gumtree (British CraigsList for any American followers).

I don’t know who thinks anyone is buying a ‘interesting statue with weird faces’ for £225…
And I’d think, if your homeland ‘invented’ the English language, you’d be better at it… because I’m from a former colony, and I got it down ;-).
You just cannot fathom the ‘humanity’, but to be fair, we are ‘only human’… I hope. Because driving out to a stranger’s home just to ‘have a look’ at a table and chairs, well that, that seems pretty odd to me, and not very British at all.
